Jointly promote the "two-intelligence linkage" construction of Shanghai Smart City and Intelligent Network United Automobile.

According to reports, following the establishment of Mercedes-Benz Shanghai International Design Center in 2019 and the new Shanghai R & D Center in 2022, in June 2023, Mercedes-Benz (Shanghai) Digital Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz, was officially registered in Shanghai. In addition, the new office building of Mercedes-Benz Shanghai R & D Center is scheduled to be officially opened in the first half of 2024.

Mercedes-Benz's R & D team in China is expected to grow to 2000 by the end of 2023, nearly double that of 2020.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, Mercedes-Benz's new long-wheelbase E-Class will be equipped with a third-generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, bringing newly upgraded voice interaction systems and navigation functions. With the participation of the Chinese R & D team, the Mercedes-Benz operating system (MB.OS) will be launched with the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform in the middle of this decade.
