Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Brother Black fly's left hand and Mr. Aviation's clue delivery! CTOnews.com, October 18 (Xinhua)-- BMW Group has announced that it will adopt the North American charging Standard (NACS) in the United States and Canada from 2025. The agreement covers BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce electric models.

▲ Touyuan, BMW's official website, said the two companies will work together in the coming months to create a seamless customer experience that allows owners of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce to find and access available charging devices on their car screens and pay through the brand's respective apps.

Sebastian Mackensen, president and chief executive of BMW North America, said: "with the launch of six all-electric BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce models in the US market and more models to be launched in the future, our top priority is to ensure that car owners can easily, reliably and quickly recharge."

BMW also mentioned in a press release that the agreement is independent of its commitment to form a joint venture with six other automakers. BMW had previously announced that it would set up a new joint venture to build a new high-power electric vehicle charging network in North America. The new joint venture, which is expected to be set up this year, will build at least 30000 new charging stations in metropolitan areas and along major highways, which can be used by any electric vehicle using CCS or NACS charging standards.

According to previous CTOnews.com reports, so far, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Nissan, Jaguar, Hyundai, Kia and other car companies have announced to join the Tesla NACS charging standard.
