CTOnews.com, Oct. 18, according to update instructions, Apple's upcoming iOS 17. 1 update will improve the synchronization of screen usage time (Screen Time) settings between Apple devices.

Screen usage time is a feature that allows parents to remotely manage their children's devices, such as restricting the use of devices for certain periods of time, setting time limits for applications, and blocking inappropriate content. However, some parents complain that the screen usage time setting is sometimes reset or cannot be synchronized on all devices in the home sharing group.

"We know that some users may experience unexpected reset of screen usage time settings," an Apple spokesman said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal in July. "We attach great importance to these reports. We have made and will continue to update to improve the situation."

Apple has tried to improve the synchronization of screen usage settings in iOS 16.5, but for some users, the problem still exists in subsequent versions of the software.

CTOnews.com noted that screen usage was launched in 2018 as part of iOS 12, providing parents with a built-in control option that previously required third-party applications.

The official version of iOS 17. 1 is expected to be released next week.
