CTOnews.com, October 17, Qualcomm today issued a press release saying that it is working with Google to develop a Snapdragon Wear chip based on RISC-V architecture, which will be used in the next generation of Wear OS watches.

Bjorn Kilburn, general manager of Wear OS by Google, said, "Qualcomm has always been the pillar of the Wear OS ecosystem, providing high-performance, low-power systems for many of our OEM partners, and we are pleased to expand our cooperation with Qualcomm and launch RISC-V-based wearable solutions."
It is reported that Qualcomm and Google recently launched the RISC-V Software ecosystem (RISE), which is gradually promoting a series of RISC-V hardware development.
As an open source instruction set architecture (ISA), RISC-V encourages innovation and allows any company to develop a fully customized core.
