It is said that Tesla owners reported that Model Y can still keep its body strong after being attacked by a large truck, so many car owners will still choose to buy Tesla models after an accident.

Tesla put forward the "integrated casting" technology in 2019 and issued a new patent for "multi-directional integrated body casting machine and related casting methods for automobile frame". This technology has been applied in Model Y since 2020, and giant die casting machines have been introduced into Tesla's four factories in Shanghai, Berlin, Texas and California.

According to the public data of CTOnews.com inquiry, through the application of integrated die-casting technology, the rear floor of Model Y can integrate 80 parts originally produced by stamping and other processes into one casting part.

At the same time, the technology is also the core of the latest automobile assembly system "disassembly process" announced by Musk in March this year. Tesla said that the new assembly method could reduce the production cost of electric vehicles by 50 per cent and reduce factory space by 40 per cent.
