CTOnews.com, Oct. 17, according to a technology patent announced by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a second technology patent for Vision Pro head display liquid lens, outlining different ways to achieve it.

CTOnews.com reported in August that Apple was granted a technology patent called "Electronic device with liquid Lens". The lens in the head display device uses an adjustable liquid lens, each lens can have a lens cavity filled with liquid, and the lens chamber can have rigid and / or flexible walls that form the surface of the optical lens.

The second patent granted today outlines different implementations. the module includes a transparent lens element, a lens forming structure coupled to the transparent lens element, and a plurality of actuators configured to adjust the position of the lens forming structure. the refractive index of the liquid lens is controlled by pressing on both sides.

These two patents are mainly designed to solve a pain point of the current mainstream AR / VR, which is not friendly to vision correction users.

These users either wear glasses and are unable to get a long comfortable experience, or customize special glasses clips (usually for an extra fee), and the experience is not comfortable enough.

If Apple applies the patent to a future Vision Pro head display, the liquid lens will dynamically adjust the focal length and refractive index according to the wearer to provide a more comfortable wearing experience.
