Samsung mobile phones accounted for 20%, compared with 21% in the same period last year, and sales fell 13% from a year earlier.

IPhone accounts for 16%, compared with 17% in the same period last year, and sales are down 9% from the same period last year.

Xiaomi mobile phones account for 12%, compared with 13% in the same period last year, and sales are down 15% from the same period last year.

OPPO mobile phones accounted for 8%, compared with 9% in the same period last year, and sales fell 15% from a year earlier.

Vivo mobile phones accounted for 8%, compared with 9% in the same period last year, and sales fell 14% from a year earlier.

Other brands accounted for 36 per cent, compared with 32 per cent in the same period last year, and sales fell 26 per cent year-on-year.

According to Counterpoint analysis on ▲ Tuyuan Apple's website, Samsung's new generation of foldable products has been mixed. Sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are almost twice that of similar products, and Samsung's A-Series models are still the market leader in the mid-price range. Despite the late release of the iPhone 15 series, Apple still ranks second with a 16% market share, and the series has been well received so far.

Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo are still in the top five in the market, with three of them falling year-on-year. Counterpoint believes that all of these brands are committed to strengthening their position in key markets such as China and India in the third quarter of this year, while continuing to slow their expansion in overseas markets.

Glory, Huawei and Chuanyin were among the few brands with year-on-year growth in the third quarter, with Huawei benefiting from the launch of the Mate 60 series in China and Glory's growth thanks to strong overseas performance. The brand continues to expand while benefiting from the recovery in the Middle East and Africa.

According to Counterpoint's forecasts, shipments of the global smartphone market will fall for the whole of 2023, reaching the lowest level in a decade.
