Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, October 16 (Xinhua)-- Google announced on the 13th of this month that users of its own generative AI products will be protected by officials. CTOnews.com has previously reported that Google said the move was "intended to allay concerns about the potential infringement risks of generative AI."
At present, Google has introduced more details of the "generative AI indemnification" service, so that users do not have to worry about legal risks caused by copyrighted content.
▲ source Google has learned that the new service consists of two parts, the first part is related to the training data set used by Google (the "exemption" of the training data), and the second part focuses on the generation of the basic model (the "exemption" of the results).
The "exemption" of training materials mainly covers all the training data sets that Google uses to create AI. If anyone claims that the relevant training data sets are infringed, Google will bear all the responsibility.
The "exemption" for generating results is when users use the output of Google's AI service, and Google bears all the responsibility if the model generated by the Google AI service is accused of "copyright infringement".
Google has previously said that the relevant "disclaimer" content applies to the following Google products:
Duet AI in Workspace (including text generated in Google Docs document processing tools and Gmail, images in Google Slides slide processors and Google Meet videoconferencing tools)
Duet AI in Google Cloud
Vertex AI search
Vertex AI conversation
Vertex AI text embedded in API
Visual subtitles on Vertex AI
Codey API
However, Google stressed that the premise of exemption is that corporate users have "no infringement intention" and use "existing or developing" AI tools to "quote sources" under responsible AI use.
Google said customers would be automatically granted "exemption protection" without modifying existing contracts, while claiming that "this is only the first step" and that it was developing "ways to make users feel at ease with their AI services".
