CTOnews.com October 16 news, recently OpenAI quietly changed its "core values" list to include General artificial Intelligence (AGI), which was not clearly listed before, and tied it to the first place, showing a strong pursuit of AGI.

According to the media screenshot of September 25, 2022, the OpenAI recruitment page lists six core values for its employees to follow, namely boldness, thoughtfulness, modesty, emphasis on influence, teamwork and focus on growth. But now these values have been replaced with five new values, of which "focus AGI (AGI focus)" ranks first. OpenAI's website reads: we are committed to building a safe and beneficial AGI, which will have a huge positive impact on the future of mankind. Everything that does not meet this goal is not within our consideration.

The remaining four values are fierce and tenacious, scale, creating things that users love and team spirit.

New values CTOnews.com notes that in February, Sam Altman, chief executive of OpenAI, wrote in a company blog post that AGI could be broadly defined as "a system that is generally smarter than humans", but in an interview published in New York magazine last month, he downgraded AGI, calling AGI a "middle-level human who can be hired as a colleague."

OpenAI has developed some breakthrough and influential AI systems, such as ChatGPT, DALL-E and so on, which demonstrate their powerful capabilities in the fields of natural language processing, image generation and visual recognition. However, these systems cannot be called real AGI because they still have some limitations and shortcomings.
