CTOnews.com October 16, the DuoWOA team recently released a new set of Windows drivers for first-and second-generation Surface Duo. The most notable change is the initial support for Surface Dial, a display accessory that Microsoft has long forgotten. The update log also includes some problem fixes and general stability improvements.

The following is an update for Surface Duo Windows driver version 2310.45:

Initial support for Surface Dial (still under development)

Fixed the problem that the phone may take longer during shutdown / restart or the error check screen may occur during shutdown / restart

Solved the problem of preventing operating system upgrades from working properly in Windows Insider Canary Channel

General system stability improvement to enhance user experience.

The following is an update for Surface Duo 2 (still a proof of concept, so nothing special):

Merge most of the common changes from Surface Duo (first generation) into Surface Duo 2

Solved the problem that the touch function failed in the latest version

Update some system drivers to the latest October version

General system stability improvement to enhance user experience.

Microsoft launched Surface Dial in October 2016, which was released with three compatible devices: the first generation Surface Studio,Surface Book and the fourth generation Surface Pro. Users can use Surface Dial to adjust the volume, browse the web, etc., and through a series of appropriate software, call controls, drawing tools or other options to complete artistic creation. According to different usage habits, users can use it on the desktop or on the screen.

CTOnews.com notes that Microsoft seems to have abandoned this accessory because the latest Surface devices no longer support Surface Dial and there are no follow-up products. However, seven years after its release, Surface Dial is still sold on Amazon for $75.99 (25% below the original price).
