In September 2023, Volkswagen delivered 830600 vehicles worldwide, an increase of 9.9 per cent over the same period last year. Of this total, delivery in China was 298800, down 0.9 per cent from the same period last year.

From January to September 2023, Volkswagen delivered 6715800 vehicles worldwide, an increase of 10.9 per cent over the same period last year. Among them, the delivery volume in China was 2289100, down 3.0 per cent from the same period last year.

Volkswagen said it delivered 531500 all-electric vehicles (BEV) to customers from January to September, compared with 366600 in the same period last year, up 45 per cent from a year earlier. The share of pure electric vehicles in total deliveries increased to 7.9% (6.1% in January-September 2022) and reached 9.0% in the third quarter (6.8% in the third quarter of 2022).

Regionally, 64 per cent of the group's pure electric vehicle deliveries go to Europe, followed by China (22 per cent) and the US (10 per cent), with the remaining 4 per cent going to other markets.

Europe remains the main driver of Volkswagen's electrification strategy, with pure electric vehicle sales rising 61 per cent to 341100 in January-September (compared with 211900 in January-September 2022).

Volkswagen group u.s. pure electric vehicle sales rose 74% to 50300 units in January-September (compared with 28900 in January-September 2022).

Volkswagen group's sales of pure electric vehicles in china increased by 4% compared with the same period last year. 117100 pure electric vehicles were sold in January-September (compared with 112700 in January-September 2022).

By the end of September, the Volkswagen passenger car brand had delivered 273000 all-electric vehicles, slightly more than half of the group's all-electric vehicles. This was followed by Audi, which delivered 123000 vehicles (group share 23 per cent), Skoda 54400 vehicles (group share 10 per cent), SEAT / CUPRA 32300 vehicles (group share 6 per cent), Porsche 27900 vehicles (group 5 per cent) and Volkswagen commercial vehicles 19600 vehicles (4 per cent).
