Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Recently, Intel announced that it has begun to use extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUV) technology to mass produce (HVM) Intel 4 process nodes. The large-scale mass production of Intel 4 is achieved on schedule, which once again proves that Intel is promoting the "four-year and five process nodes" program with strong execution and applying it to a new generation of leading products to meet the arithmetic needs of the "core economy" exponential growth driven by AI.
As Intel's first process node to use extreme ultraviolet lithography, Intel 4 has achieved significant improvements in performance, energy efficiency and transistor density compared to previous nodes. Extreme UV lithography is driving applications that require the most computing power, such as AI, advanced mobile networks, autopilot and new data centers and cloud applications. In addition, extreme UV lithography also plays a key role in Intel's successful implementation of its "four-year five process nodes" program and regaining process leadership in 2025.
Pat Kissinger, CEO of Intel, said: "I am proud of Intel's team and its customers, suppliers and partners to make mass production of Intel 4 process nodes a reality and make steady progress on the road to regaining process leadership."
Intel's "five process nodes in four years" plan is well under way. Currently, Intel 7 and Intel 4 are in mass production; Intel 3 is moving ahead as planned with the end of 2023; and the Intel 20A and Intel 18A, using RibbonFET full-surround gate transistors and PowerVia back power technology, are also progressing smoothly with a target of 2024. Intel will soon launch the Intel 18A process Design Kit (PDK) for Intel contract Manufacturing Services (IFS) customers.
Intel's product roadmap is also continuing as planned: the Intel ®Core ™Ultra processor with Intel 4 process node and product code Meteor Lake will be released on December 14 this year, paving the way for the AI PC era Using the Intel 3 process node, the energy-efficient core (E-core) super-strong processor Sierra Forest will be launched in the first half of 2024, followed by the high-performance core (P-core) super-strong processor Granite Rapids.
Chips have formed a $574 billion industry. Against this background, Intel put forward the concept of "Siliconomy", that is, "a growing economy driven by chips and software". Intel pointed out that AI is an important driving force of the "core economy", and its vigorous development begins with the innovation of chip technology. Under the banner of Moore's Law, Intel will continue to explore the underlying technological innovation in manufacturing, packaging and other areas, promote the continuous growth of computing power, and help customers and developers grasp the huge social and business opportunities of the "core economy" era.
