CTOnews.com news on October 13, Tesla's software ecosystem is mainly limited to his own applications, and now Tesla's official API document has finally been released. Starting next year, all third-party applications should pass the new FleetAPI.

Tesla's official documentation shows that an authentication token is required for API endpoints. The consumer of the partner authentication token can be used for calls related to modifying the application, or to access corporate-owned devices; the third-party token will be the ID of the customer account, generated by the third-party application on behalf of the customer, and can be used for most endpoints.

Tesla's car does not support neither Apple's CarPlay nor Google's Android Auto. That is expected to change as Tesla publishes official API documents for developers to create applications.

While this is not a complete API document and SDK (Software Development Kit), it is a big step towards developing a more open and friendly ecosystem. You can pay attention to whether Tesla can fully open up the application system in the future.
