On the afternoon of October 12, the government-enterprise sub-forum of the 2023 China Mobile Global Partnership Conference "Computing Network integrates 100 Industries to win the Future" opened, and Mobile Cloud released COCA innovation achievements, OpenCOCA open source projects and the "OpenCOCA White Paper" to help build an open computing architecture for the future.

At the forum, around the three major themes of "innovation leading", "application blooming" and "ecological win-win", many industry experts carried out in-depth discussion and sharing to make suggestions for China's new digital infrastructure. He pointed out that in carrying out the mission of "building the cloud for the country", mobile cloud has achieved great-leap-forward development in recent years and is accelerating to become a first-class cloud service provider. In the future, as the key engine of China Mobile's innovation and development, Mobile Cloud will continue to build cloud infrastructure with a high starting point, develop cloud full-stack products with high standards, build a first-class information and innovation cloud base, and promote the deepening and implementation of computing network services. to help achieve a new level of innovation and development.

In order to carry out the mission of "building the cloud for the country", solve the bottleneck problem of key technologies, and the underlying technology of the mobile cloud computing network, COCA (Compute on chip Architecture) software and hardware computing architecture (hereinafter referred to as COCA) was launched in April this year. COCA consists of three core modules: DPU, GPU and HPN, which aims to reshape the computing architecture, integrate computing ecology, provide massive AI computing power, and create a high-performance computing infrastructure.

In this government-enterprise forum, Mobile Cloud has released a number of phased achievements of COCA, which can be transformed and upgraded with greater computing power, more efficient links and more reliable capabilities.

Create DPU "Core" Ecology and reshape Computing Architecture

In terms of DPU, Mobile Cloud has developed its own rock DPU, redefining DPU hardware and software standards. It was announced that the network throughput capacity of Rock DPU4.0 was increased to 400Gbps, the storage IO capacity was increased to 4 million, and the programmable RDMA capability was added to support bandwidth up to 200Gbps, while reducing power consumption by 50%, reaching the industry-leading level as a whole.

Prosper GPU ecology and integrate computing ecology

In terms of GPU, Mobile Cloud builds a COCA AI computing platform and takes the lead in building a "one-cloud multi-core" Xinchuang laboratory. At present, the platform can provide more than 200 standard core operator interfaces to carry out deep adaptation with a number of partners. Users can implement one-time coding on multiple GPU platforms, which greatly reduces the cost of research and development and migration.

At present, the COCA AI computing power integration platform has realized the pooling of AI computing resources, has the ability to decouple CPU and GPU to order, and the user cost can be reduced by more than 50% in reasoning scenarios.

Break through the bottleneck of intelligent computing interconnection and provide massive AI computing power

In terms of HPN, Mobile Cloud launched the "Umeng" high-performance network (COCA-HPN) for RoCE, the original "Umeng" congestion flow control protocol, which realizes high-precision congestion signal detection capability, which can reduce congestion delay and improve cluster computing efficiency. In the typical "medium and long stream" scenario of the Intelligent Computing Center, the cluster network performance can be improved by 48%, and the 10,000-card-level intelligent cluster networking capability can also be supported.

Mobile Cloud hopes to work with more partners to jointly innovate the high-performance network technology of end-to-end network collaboration on the platform of COCA-HPN, so as to overcome the large-scale cluster interconnection problem of "bottleneck" in the industry.

Adhering to the concept of win-win, constructing the Open Technology Ecology of OpenCOCA

Adhering to the concept of "openness + win-win", Mobile Cloud opens the core results of COCA. At the forum site, Mobile Cloud held the OpenCOCA open source project and "OpenCOCA White Paper" release ceremony, and proposed domestic cloud industry-related enterprises and institutions to join OpenCOCA, jointly create high-performance computing technology, form an industrial alliance, build high-performance computing infrastructure, promote the ecological maturity of digital industry and technology, and contribute to the prosperity of China's digital economy.
