CTOnews.com Note: previously, in Outlook applications, after users double-clicked attachments in the above three formats, they would call network applications to process them, but some users preferred local application processing.

Microsoft is currently promoting the new feature around the world, and users can double-click Word, Excel or PowerPoint attachments after an update, which can be opened by a local default application set by the user.

Although this feature adjustment is very small, it has the following advantages:

Users can open attachments faster without having to download attachments or switch to other applications.

Users can handle attachments in the same environment.

Desktop applications generally perform better than Web applications, especially when working with large or complex files.
