CTOnews.com Jeff Pu, a technical analyst at Haitong International Securities, recently released a market research report that Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with Snapdragon X75 modem, while the two standard models retain X70 modem.

Aside from the iPhone SE model, Apple's four iPhone models will all use the same modem, and Jeff Pu believes Apple wants to further expand the difference between the iPhone standard model and the Pro model, and next year's models will use different modems.

CTOnews.com Note: Jeff Pu has had a lot of accurate revelations in the past that have some credibility. In his view, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus retain X70 modems, while the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max both use X75 modems.

Qualcomm released the Snapdragon X75 modem in February 2023, which is also the world's first "5G Advanced-ready" baseband product, supporting ten-carrier aggregation and promising 10Gbps downlink speed in Wi-Fi 7 and 5G.

Qualcomm says this provides simpler manufacturing and reduces the physical area occupied by some chips by 25%. In addition, putting mmWave / Sub-6 on a chip can have up to 20% more energy efficiency than the X70.
