According to Counterpoint analysts, Apple fell slightly in the top 10 rankings in the second quarter of 2023, but its share remained in double digits. The share of the basic iPhone model (iPhone 14 + 13) in North America and Europe increased year-on-year, while the market share of iPhone Pro models in Asia and Europe increased significantly.

For Samsung, the brand's A-Series models are particularly strong in Asia and Latin America, which accounted for nearly 60% of all top 10 A-Series smartphone sales in the second quarter of 2023. Samsung's only ultra-high-end product in the top 10, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, is heavily influenced by North America and Western Europe, which together account for almost 2/3 of global Ultra sales.

According to data previously released by Counterpoint, revenue from the global smartphone market fell 8 per cent year-on-year and 15 per cent month-on-month in the second quarter of 2023, according to ▲ Touyuan Apple's official website. However, Apple remains ahead in terms of "global smartphone revenue" and "operating profit".

Apple took 45 per cent of global smartphone revenue in the second quarter of this year, up nearly 3 per cent from the same period last year, while Apple earned 85 per cent of global smartphone operating profit, the highest quarterly record, according to Counterpoint.
