CTOnews.com, Oct. 12, according to analyst firm CCS Insight, HTC (HTC) is expected to withdraw from the VR industry and sell intellectual property to other big companies by 2026 because of declining revenue and fierce competition.

CTOnews.com noted that Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS Insight, said HTC was one of the pioneers in VR and had done a lot of work, but the competition was a little hard, while Meta's Quest had been driving market adoption with a very aggressive pricing strategy, almost just above cost. HTC may have improved slightly because of Apple's entry into the field, he said, as Apple revived interest in the product category. But in the end, he thought HTC would be difficult to gain a foothold and predicted that it would withdraw from the market and sell intellectual property to other big companies by 2026.

In response, HTC responded on the evening of October 11 that it "solemnly denied the rumors and predictions of the market" and said that VR, AR and AI technologies would merge with human nature, release human imagination and change the world; smartphones would be the first step in 5G, while VR, AR and AI would become killer apps, and "no other company would be better able to achieve this vision than HTC."

HTC pointed out that every industry needs time to develop and develop the biosphere.
