According to the China Association of Audio, Video and Digital Publishing, the total size of China's digital music market, including online music, music short videos, live music and online singing business, is about 155.49 billion yuan in 2022, an increase of 16.8% compared with 2021.

The size of China's online music market is about 18.02 billion yuan, an increase of 12.8 percent over the previous year; the size of music short video market is about 41.03 billion yuan, an increase of 19.8 percent over the previous year; the scale of live music market is about 81.52 billion yuan; and the size of online singing market is about 14.92 billion yuan, slightly lower than the previous year.

By the end of 2022, the total number of songs on China's digital music platform is about 132 million. In terms of content, among the types of Chinese music, pop music accounts for the highest proportion, rap, light music, national style and other minority music began to attract attention.

In 2022, the number of independent musicians exceeded 800000 and more than 3 million pieces of music were created. Among them, 35% were independent musicians under 24 years old and 67.3% were under 30 years old.

By 2022, the number of digital music users in China, including online music, music short videos, online singing and live music streaming, has reached about 848 million, accounting for 79.5% of the total Internet users.
