CTOnews.com October 11 news, Jibang Consulting released a report today that notebook computer market inventory began to show a healthy trend in the second quarter of this year, and this situation is even more obvious in the third quarter. The laptop market is expected to rebound in 2024, with annual shipments growing by 2-5%.

Driven by Chromebook, laptop shipments reached 42.52 million in the second quarter of 2023, up 21.6% from a month earlier, the report said. Overall, shipments in the first half of the year were 77.5 million, down 23.5% from a year earlier.

Ji Bang Consulting believes that end-consumer demand will further boost the notebook business in the second half of 2023. Shipments in the third quarter are estimated to be 44.13 million units, a moderate increase of 3.8%. Shipments of notebook computers for the whole year are expected to reach 163 million units, down 12.2% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned from the Jibang consultancy report that despite the pick-up in consumer demand, the global consumer environment is still under pressure and there are no strong signs of bullishness in the market. Jibang Consulting expects annual growth rates to hover between 2 and 5 per cent in 2024, with shipments slightly higher than before the epidemic.
