CTOnews.com found that the executive director of the Russian Association of data Storage system developers claimed that Russian companies would purchase Godson 5000 series processors (12nm process) with similar performance to Intel i5.

The general manager of Norsi-Trans said that the company has purchased about 100 Godson processors and will trial-produce a batch of devices that use Loongson processors.

It is reported that Norsi-Trans 's partner will be Basalt SPO (the developer of Alt OS), the company's board chairman Alexei Smirnov claimed that "ALT OS is suitable for Godson processors."

Norsi-Trans plans to supply the pilot equipment to relevant departments and enterprise customers, and to include the finished products in the Electronic products Register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Experts interviewed by the newspaper believe that the conversion of Russian equipment to Loongson processors is "necessary" to reduce reliance on technologies such as Intel and AMD.

At the same time, the "businessman" pointed out that Norsi-Trans is not the only Russian electronics manufacturer planning to use Loongson processors in its products. Prombit's "roadmap" also includes "similar plans."
