CTOnews.com October 11, Microsoft recently released the Windows Holographic version of 23H2, which is Microsoft's next major update for HoloLens devices. Windows Holographic version 23H2 (22621.1244) comes with NFC reader support, hand tracking improvements, camera viewfinder and several bug fixes.

The main updates attached to CTOnews.com are as follows:

Support NFC card reader: users can use the NFC card reader to log in to the HoloLens device, as long as the security card with NFC FIDO2 technology is close to the USB-C NFC card reader, you can achieve the "tap-enter password" login experience.

Improve eye tracking speed: for HoloLens 2 users who do not save eye movement tracking calibration, the device updates the eye position (pupil distance) immediately after the user wears it, thus improving the fluency of close interaction.

Improved virtual keyboard: added voice input prompts and feedback, improved the reliability of sliding input, optimized keyboard suggestions and audio feedback.

Improved gesture tracking: the gesture tracking system is more reliable when users aim at objects on the ground.

Improved font and input method: improved a variety of simplified Chinese fonts and Microsoft Pinyin input method, support GB18030-2022 standard, can input and display characters in the first or second character set, but also support Unicode extension E and F characters.

Add camera viewfinder: the HoloLens camera application now has a viewfinder that can display the range of image or video capture. The viewfinder does not obscure the user's field of view, just an indicator showing the center and boundary.

New IT administrator policy: added a number of policies to facilitate IT administrators to manage HoloLens 2 devices, including renaming devices, controlling start menu gesture settings, blocking USB peripherals, recommending domain name login, adjusting Windows Hello configuration, and so on.

Fix errors and improve performance: fixed some errors that affect the user experience, such as page visibility policy, virtual keyboard slide input, reset button display, set application search box function, etc., and improve the performance and stability of the device.
