VBScript can be used to automate repetitive Windows operating system tasks. In the Windows operating system, VBScript can run within the scope of Windows Script Host. But with the emergence of tools such as PowerShell, it has been gradually replaced.

In addition, VBScript may become a route for the spread of malware to some extent. However, there are still some cases in which VBScript is used, especially in Microsoft proprietary environments.
