While demand and the global economy remain sluggish, PC shipments have increased in the past two quarters, slowing year-on-year decline, indicating that the market is out of the doldrums, IDC said.

In terms of manufacturers, Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Apple and Asustek ranked in the top five, of which only Hewlett-Packard grew 6.4% year-on-year, while the other four brands all declined.
