CTOnews.com, October 11, CTOnews.com learned from the official website of the General Administration of Market Supervision that Porsche (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. Starting from October 16, 2023, a total of 2570 imported Taycan series cars were recalled from September 22, 2022 to August 3, 2023.

Due to insufficient amount of sealant between the high-voltage battery frame and the battery cover of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the liquid may enter the interior of the high-voltage battery, resulting in a decrease in the internal insulation resistance of the high-voltage battery and an increase in the risk of thermal runaway of the high-voltage battery.

Porsche (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will conduct a high-voltage battery leakage test for vehicles within the scope of the recall through authorized dealers. If the test shows that there is a potential leakage of the high-voltage battery, the high-voltage battery should be replaced free of charge to eliminate the safety risks.
