SL-1200GR2 is equipped with a new motor drive system, which takes the newly developed Delta Σ-Drive (Delta Sigma driver) as the center, improves the motor drive circuit and suppresses the small vibration of the motor.

SL-1200GR2 has redeveloped a single rotor coreless direct drive motor, which greatly reduces the tooth insertion effect (the rotation irregularity of the motor).

SL-1200GR2 adopts high-speed switching power supply. Applying switching power supply to turntable can eliminate the demand for large transformers and avoid the influence of mechanical vibration. The switching frequency higher than 100khz limits the effect of noise on music playback bandwidth to a large extent.

SL-1200GR2 can actively reduce noise according to the injection current. This technology combines a noise detection device and an error amplifier. It detects the residual noise in the power supply and uses the reverse current to offset the noise components. It eliminates the low frequency noise to a great extent and ensures the ideal power supply more effectively than the voltage regulator.

The SL-1200GR2 turntable adopts a double-layer structure, and the entire rear surface of the aluminum die casting is coated with muffler rubber, which reduces the unnecessary resonance transmitted to the record, thus achieving high rigidity and damping characteristics. In order to increase the inertia mass and reduce the vibration, the shape of the aluminum die casting part is optimized. The GR2 disc weighs 2.5kg (including rubber pads) and is 0.8kg heavier than the previous MK5. In addition, the back of the turntable is reinforced to improve rigidity. By increasing the contact area with silencer rubber, the achievable damping characteristic is more than twice that of MK5.

SL-1200GR2 's singing arm tracks the rotation of the record and enables high-precision reading. Technics uses the traditional static balance general S-shaped singing arm, aluminum tube as the singing arm pipe material, and the universal suspension structure. The singing arm bearing part uses a high-precision bearing with a machined housing, which can achieve an initial motion sensitivity of 5 mg or less. In addition, the singing arm comes with an auxiliary counterweight, and the user can change the head to match the music style they want to listen to.

The turntable uses a gold-plated record player terminal to connect a detachable cable, while the metal shielding structure inside the shell can reduce the impact of external noise.
