CTOnews.com, October 11, 2014. On October 1, 2014, Microsoft released the first technology preview version of Windows 10, which became known as the beginning of the Windows Insider program. The Windows Insider program aims to enable users to experience the latest features of Windows updates in advance and provide feedback and suggestions. Over the past nine years, the project has maintained a strong momentum of development, attracting millions of users to participate in it.

To celebrate the ninth anniversary of the Windows Insider project, Microsoft has adopted some ways to thank users for their support and contribution. In today's Windows Insider Beta channel blog post, Microsoft said that all users participating in the Insider program will receive a special badge in their feedback center app, a cake with the number 9 on it.

In addition, CTOnews.com noted that Microsoft has released two new wallpapers to celebrate the ninth anniversary of the Insider project. One of them has a light theme and the other has a dark theme.

In another blog post, Microsoft said:

This wallpaper shows the internal perspective of our product production and design versions, as well as different visions. It symbolizes the journey that Windows Insiders has taken with us and helps us build our products. It is your valuable advice and feedback that has driven our progress and demonstrated the extraordinary synergy between our team and Insiders. Every line and detail in this image reflects the partnership that motivates us to turn the concept into a refined and superior reality.

The Windows Insider program was so successful that Microsoft decided to launch a similar Insider program for other businesses. These include the Xbox Insider program, which was launched in 2016, and the Office Insider program, which began in 2015 (later renamed the Microsoft 365 Insider program).
