CTOnews.com October 11 news, Volkswagen issued a press release today, announcing upgrades to ID.4 and ID.5.

The new model has more power and efficiency and is equipped with a new generation of infotainment systems and software, starting at 40335 euros (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 311000 yuan).

The new car uses the same ID.7 electric platform, and the two new cars are 60 kW more powerful than the previous version, with Volkswagen ID.4 's integrated WLTP mileage increasing to 550km and Volkswagen's ID.5 to 556km.

In terms of interior, both new cars feature a new infotainment system with a screen size of 12.9 inches, a new menu structure, and enhanced digital cockpit (digital meter) and optional AR HD head-up display.

In other ways, Volkswagen has added lighting effects to air conditioners and volume sliders and brought users a multi-functional steering wheel based on the new operating logic. Volkswagen also brought a new IDA voice assistant, Harman Kardon sound system, 480W music output and 10 speakers (including central speakers and subwoofers).

In addition, Volkswagen has removed and detached the driving mode selector from the shell of the digital cockpit and changed it to a rocker design, just like the ID.7.

The two new cars are equipped with 77 kWh batteries and 210 kW (286PS) rear motors, equivalent to 60 kW more power than their predecessors, while the torque has increased from 310 Nm to 545 Nm, an increase of about 75%.

The system power of the all-wheel drive version of the ID.4 Pro 4MOTION can reach 210 kW (286 PS), an increase of 15 kW (21PS) compared to the previous generation.

It is worth mentioning that the all-wheel drive version of the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX also increased the power from 30 kW (41 PS) to 250 kW (340 PS), accelerating in only 5.4 seconds at 100 km, but the top speed is still limited to 180 km/h per hour.

To match the GTX, the top speed of the Pro version is now 180 km/h (previously 160 km/h); the basic ID.4 remains the same; and the ID.4 Pure has a maximum of 160 km/h with a 125 kW motor (170 PS).

Both new cars are equipped with new 77 kWh batteries and have increased battery life. For example, the new ID.4 Pro can reach 550km (WLTP), 17km more than the previous generation, and the new ID.5 Pro can reach 556km, an increase of 11km compared to the previous generation.

The all-wheel drive version also enhances DC charging performance, increasing the power from 135 kW to 175 kW (the rear wheel drive version is still 135 kW) and can replenish 178km in about 10 minutes.

In addition, the basic version of the ID.4 Pure is equipped with a 52 kWh battery that supports 115 kW charging power instead of 110 kW.
