CTOnews.com noted that the Quest 3 was released on Sept. 28 with new Pancake lenses and a lighter body; it is equipped with a brand new headband and the top strap is split into two strips to better distribute the weight on the user's head, with an overall weight of 515g.

Quest 3 is equipped with Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and built-in 8GB memory. Meta says its graphics performance is twice that of Quest 2, and even better than the Quest Pro running the previous generation of XR2+ chips.

The monocular resolution of the head display is 2064 × 2208, which is higher than 1832 × 1920 of Quest 2, the screen supports 90Hz / 120Hz refresh rate, the horizontal field of view angle is 110 degrees, the vertical field angle is 96 degrees, and the life span is about 2-3 hours.

The most important enhancement of Quest 3 is that it is equipped with a full-color camera to support color perspective; the handle removes the positioning ring and uses an infrared sensor to locate, providing better tactile feedback; and supporting hand tracking without relying on the handle.
