So far, more than 260 5G networks have been deployed worldwide, covering nearly half of the population. 5G is the fastest growing of all intergenerational technologies. 4G has grown 1 billion users in six years, and 5G has reached this milestone in just three years.

Mr Hu said 5G's consumer-facing business was still the engine of revenue growth for operators. The brand-new consumer behavior represented by video applications has been formed. 5G has become the main carrier of mobile network traffic, and traffic management has formed a business cycle. Compared with 4GMAG 5G network traffic, the global average increase is 3% to 5 times, and the ARPU value is increased by 10% to 25%. At the same time, compared with 4G, one of the biggest changes of 5G is to help mobile communication networks expand to the market of the industry. At present, the global 5G industry applications have reached more than 50,000, the number of industry connections has exceeded 10 million. Based on the rich practice, the industry has identified the typical applications of 5G in the industry, such as remote control, video return, machine vision, equipment positioning, which meet the common rigid needs of the industry. at present, it has been applied on a large scale in mines, ports, manufacturing and other fields. " 5G is promoting the digital transformation of the industry, bringing huge business opportunities. By 2030, 5G technology will add nearly $1 trillion in value to the global economy, benefiting all industries. " Mats said.

New capacity, new model, new ecology, continuous release of 5G kinetic energy

Hu Houyi believes that facing consumers, continuously improving network coverage, enhancing user experience, and designing flexible pricing models are the key measures for operators to achieve experience management and sustainable business success. For the industry, we should focus on the typical applications of 5G and accelerate the large-scale replication of 5G in more industries. In this process, operators need to expand cloud, industry application development and end-to-end integration capabilities, and seize the opportunity of digital transformation. "at present, the initiative is supported by 240 mobile operators, accounting for 62 per cent of global mobile connections," Mats said. "this creates a deep ecosystem for cross-industry innovation that will further unlock the value of 5G." Hu Houyi believes that GSMA Open Gateway will help expand the space of the entire industry, activate the ecology of application developers, and help 5G achieve better development in the consumer and industry digital market.
