CTOnews.com, October 10 (Xinhua) according to preliminary data released by the China Federation of passengers, retail sales in China's passenger car market in September were 2.028 million, up 6% from a year earlier and 6% month-on-month. Since the beginning of this year, China's passenger car market has accumulated retail sales of 15.24 million vehicles, an increase of 2% over the same period last year.

The Federation expects retail sales of 743000 new energy vehicles in September, an increase of 21 per cent year-on-year and 4 per cent month-on-month. Since the beginning of this year, China's retail sales of new energy vehicles have totaled 5.186 million, an increase of 34 percent over the same period last year.

Tuyuan Pixabay passenger Association said that in the first half of 2023, the new energy passenger car market showed an upward trend month by month. The passenger car market has been in the off-season since July, but the enthusiasm for buying cars from August to September continued to unleash with the introduction of a large number of competitive new products and increased car promotions.

At the same time, the performance of China's automobile export market continues to strengthen, especially the export performance of new energy passenger vehicles, forming the characteristics of the simultaneous strengthening of the new energy passenger car market at home and abroad.

The passenger Association pointed out that the new energy passenger car market shows a significant Matthew effect, and the advantages of the leading enterprises are constantly expanding. In August, 15 domestic manufacturers sold more than 10,000 new energy passenger vehicles, accounting for 87.3% of the total sales.

The Federation believes that the development advantages of China's new energy passenger vehicles will continue to consolidate and expand, forecasting sales of 8.5 million new energy passenger vehicles for the whole year of 2023, with a penetration rate of 36%.
