According to the latest foreign media reports, domestic Tesla Model Y has been delivered in large quantities in the South Korean market, and it is the highest-selling imported car in the South Korean market in September, with a registration volume exceeding that of Mercedes-Benz and BMW's best-selling models.

New car registration data released by the relevant authorities showed that domestic Tesla Model Y registered 4206 new vehicles in the South Korean market in September, up from 431 in August and a month-on-month increase of 875.9 per cent.

In September, the newly registered imported cars in South Korea, second only to domestic Tesla Model Y, are Mercedes-Benz E-Class, newly registered 3510; Volvo XC60 newly registered 899, ranking third, with a significant gap with the first two paragraphs; the fourth highest newly registered is the BMW 3-Series, with 842 newly registered.

According to foreign media reports, analysts believe that the new registration of domestic Tesla Model Y in the South Korean market increased significantly in September compared with the previous month, which is related to the lower price of the rear wheel drive version with a new battery.

Foreign media reported that after using lithium iron phosphate batteries, the cost of Model Y produced by the Shanghai Super Factory is lower than that of nickel-cobalt-manganese and nickel-cobalt-aluminum batteries. The rear-wheel drive version of Model Y with this type of battery starts at 5699 million won in the South Korean market and can receive relevant subsidies.
