CTOnews.com October 10 news, British luxury car brand Aston Martin recently issued a press release, with the strong support of the British government, from the Advanced Propulsion Center (APC) to obtain 9 million pounds (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 80.19 million yuan) funding to develop a new modular pure electric (BEV) vehicle platform.

Aston Martin has pledged to invest 2 billion pounds (currently about 17.82 billion yuan) over the next five years to make the transition from ICE to EV.

Under the leadership of Aston Martin, the R & D project with six partners will address technical challenges such as "lightweight" 800V battery packs and dual front electric drive units (EDU), and the platform is suitable for a variety of models such as supercars and SUV.

Aston Martin said it will launch the first electric car using the BEV platform in 2025, but it is not clear whether it is a sports car or a passenger car.

Aston Martin is currently planning to have electrified powertrain options for all new models by 2026, with the long-term goal of fully electrifying the "core series" by 2030.

For the time being, the company will continue to develop vehicles on its existing architecture, and the Valhalla plug-in hybrid supercar will be launched in 2024.
