Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Not long ago, the brand of Changjiang Storage launched a new PCIe4.0 Gen4 solid-state hard drive, posture Ti600. As the first solid-state new product in the Ti series, it uses the Yangtze River storage stack ®Xtacking ®3.0 architecture and has a read rate as high as 7000MB/s. Let's follow CTOnews.com to find out what the actual experience is.
Packaging and accessories packaging, posture Ti600 carried out a new design, the main tone of the box is sea blue, the front of the box is printed with the product name model, appearance map, 2TB capacity version and 7000MB/s reading rate, the upper left corner also specially made a Yangtze River storage Xtacking technology label, label characters are gilded, which shows the significance of this technology for this solid state.
Some product information about the SSD is printed on the back of the package, including five-year limited warranty support. The box body adopts bilateral sealing design, which has certain sealing property.
Open the package, which contains the solid state hard drive body, protective plastic shell, a bag of fixing screws and a product manual. The supplied screw set contains three different types of screws (2 nail widths and 1 cushion nut type) to meet the installation needs of mainstream desktops and notebooks. This detail is very good, after all, sometimes you can only fit one screw, without the right screw can be very maddening.
The material specification normal Ti600 solid state disk adopts one-sided PCB design, which can be better compatible with notebooks, PS5 and other devices with precious internal space, making it more convenient for equipment expansion. The all-black label on the front is simply printed with product information and various certification marks. The piece we have here is 2TB capacity.
Open the label, the state-of-the-art Ti600 solid-state disk is a total of 1 master chip + 4 flash memory particles combination, from the solder pad position is not difficult to see, its maximum storage capacity of 4TB. Among them, the flash memory part is the original QLC particles of Changjiang Storage. With the latest generation of crystal stack ®Xtacking ®3.0 architecture, the third generation 3D NAND flash memory has the characteristics of high density, high performance and high quality, the comprehensive ability of system-level storage is stronger, the transmission speed is faster, and the use state is more stable.
With a little popular science here, the core of the crystal stack ®Xtacking ®architecture of Changjiang memory lies in two independent wafers responsible for processing peripheral circuits and memory cells respectively, thus having more independent selectivity, so that NAND flash memory can obtain more I / O channels and higher interface speed. The latest generation of NAND under the ®Xtacking ®3.0 architecture supports four flash channels and interface bandwidth up to 2400MT/s.
On the other hand, the crystal stack ®Xtacking ®3.0 architecture can also enhance the storage density of 3D NAND particles. In the traditional 3D NAND architecture, the peripheral CMOS circuit will occupy about 2030% of the chip area, while under the Xtacking architecture, the peripheral circuit will be placed on the memory cell, which increases the storage density through technological innovation and reduces the chip area by about 25%.
The 2TB version of the stateful Ti600 is composed of four 512GB storage particles. The back of the hard disk is no longer integrated with other components, so it is convenient to add heat sink. In terms of interface, Ti600 uses standard M.2 interface and 2280 size specifications, supports PCIe4.0 and NVMe2.0, and is compatible with mainstream desktops, laptops, PS5 and other game consoles in the market.
Performance test according to the official introduction, the 2TB version of the stateful Ti600 solid state disk can reach the sequential read and write speed of 7000MB/s and 6000MB/s, and the random read and write speed can reach 900KIOPS and 700KIOPS, respectively. The nominal total amount of written data is 800TBW, and there is no independent cache capacity.
Before testing, let's explain the test platform this time. The processor is Intel Core i9-13900KS, the motherboard type is Z790 D5, and the memory type is DDR5 5600MHz 16GB*2. We will install the solid state on the first hard disk below the CPU. All the following tests are based on this platform, and the results are for reference only.
First of all, CTOnews.com runs empty disk read and write scores through the professional test software CrystalDiskMark, and the sequential reading speed of the Ti600 2TB version comes to 7096MB/s under the size of 1GB, and the sequential writing speed reaches 6400MB/s, which not only achieves the official promotion of 7000MB/s and 6000MB/s, but also exceeds the writing speed.
In another hard disk running software AS SSD, the 1GB read and write comprehensive score of the state Ti600 2TB version has exceeded 8000 points, which is still a little far from the top flagship, but it is also an excellent level.
Then there is the 4K random read test. We all know that 4K refers to the random reading of small 4KiB Q1T1 files, and the corresponding delay is the average response time of accessing the hard disk during the test. Generally speaking, the higher the 4K score, the lower the delay score. Through the test of CDM, the 4K random read of the stateful Ti600 2TB version of SLC buffer is 82, and the delay is 49us.
In the standard 4K IOPS test, the performance of the state-of-the-art Ti600 2TB version is also excellent, with 4K throughput reaching 1053KIOPS and 735KIOPS respectively, which has surpassed many PCIe4.0 solid state drives, and its performance in large games and content creation should be expected.
Seven-read and three-write refers to the mixed read-write test with 4096 bytes in Q1T1. Generally speaking, when you start the software from the hard disk or open the game to load or load the map, most of the ultra-small files around 4KiB are used, both reading and writing account for more, and the two working states of the hard disk are carried out at the same time. So this test is very suitable for consumers' daily use scenarios.
We called up the test combination in the original CDM and finally got a score of 127. in the historical solid-state test data of CTOnews.com, Samsung PM9A1 of 1TB version had a score of 105, and Rexa NM800 of 2TB had a score of 121. it can be seen that the performance of posture Ti600 2TB version is very excellent.
As a comprehensive PC testing software, PC Mark 8 also contains a very detailed storage performance test project for the hard disk. The test results include scores, bandwidth and sub-scores of 10 items, including game testing, office software and professional software, covering all aspects of evaluation. It is also a very good reference project. The overall score of the state-of-the-art Ti600 2TB version on this test is 5090, which is no less than that of the flagship solid state. You can also refer to the startup time of the Adobe family bucket and the Microsoft three-piece set.
In the more professional PC Mark 10, we have tested the comprehensive performance of the data disk of the stateful Ti600 2TB version to simulate the performance of mainstream application scenarios. As shown in the figure above, the bandwidth is up to 649.64MB/s and the average access time is 42 μ s. It is suitable to be used as a storage data disk.
Since the state Ti600 2TB version uses HMB and SLC Cache cache acceleration technology, when the hard disk capacity is sufficient, part of the idle space will be simulated as SLC space. When users write data to the solid state disk, they will first enter the simulated SLC space, and then move the data out of the SLC space when the system is idle, so as long as your file size is smaller than the SLC cache capacity in daily use. Can complete file copy, intradisk copy and other operations as quickly as possible.
Now let's test how large the SLC cache size of the stateful Ti600 2TB version is and how fast it is inside and outside the buffer. Through the software HD Tune PRO, we generate a 200GB-sized data packet in the zero data mode of read + write. As a result, both read and write are about 6000MB/s. On average, the mixed speed of read and write is about 6100MB/s, and the curve is very smooth and smooth. Obviously, this disk uses a full simulation.
However, since HD Tune Pro can only generate 200GB packets at the maximum, we use another software, urwtest, which has a higher pressure load on the hard disk, to test its cache size, true write average speed in buffer and out-of-cache speed. Secretly tell you, using this tool to test the true capacity of the hard drive is also very easy to use.
As can be seen from the last line of the figure above, the real average write speed of the stateful Ti600 2TB version is about 3550MB/s. After executing the software, when the remaining hard disk margin is lower than 1360GB (total capacity 1863GB), the write speed drops sharply, thus it can be inferred that the solid state SLC cache capacity is about 500GB, and the buffer speed is lower, which belongs to the U disk level.
We have also done some small auxiliary tests, such as the single file cross-disk transfer test, and the average copy speed of the state Ti600 2TB version is 3.8GB/s.
In the multi-file cross-disk transfer test, the overall speed fluctuation is more obvious, but the average copy speed can reach the score of 3GB/s or so.
In the same disk single file copy test, the speed was 5GB/s at the beginning, then decreased and stabilized at 2.4GB/s, and the copy rate tended to be in a straight line.
Finally, let's take a look at the temperature performance. before the overall test starts, we open the CrystalDiskInfo software to check it out. At this time, the standby temperature of the hard drive is only 39 degrees, which is very cool.
In the full-write simulation test of heavy load, the CrystalDiskInfo showed a maximum temperature of 68 degrees, which is acceptable considering that it is a high-speed disk and does not have a heat sink to assist in cooling.
After the software driver talks about the hardware performance, let's take a look at the software. For the Ti series of solid state drives, there is a special hard disk management tool called stateful Smart Tool. The running interface is shown in the following figure.
From the home page of the stateful Smart Tool management tool, we can learn some basic information about the hard disk, such as serial number, interface specification, hard disk capacity and total write size, etc. The current temperature of the hard disk and the firmware version are also available to help users quickly understand the hard disk information.
The firmware information page supports automatic detection and upgrade of firmware of SSDs. In general, there is no need for users to manually access the official website to upgrade.
Stateful Smart Tool also provides the function of emptying the disk.
In addition to the hardware information of the hard disk itself, users can also query the current system and other hardware information through the stateful Smart Tool. The overall page of the software is simple and the function is practical.
Summing up the overall test, it is clear that the posture Ti600 is an entry-level positioning product. However, we can still see the official attitude in it, whether it is the sequential read and write performance of 7000MB/s and 6000MB/s, or the new generation of Changjiang storage original flash memory particles of the crystal stack ®Xtacking ®3.0. we are not stingy with the decentralization of technology. And under the HMB and intelligent SLC Cache technology, the non-buffer design also gives 500GB a large amount of cache space, and the buffer performance is very excellent.
However, from another point of view, the advantages and disadvantages of QLC solid state are also very clear. The price and materials of cheap large bowls are more suitable for storage disk, but if you need to write / copy large files frequently, then QLC has fewer erasure times and low speed. Overall, such a product with excellent read and write speed and easy to enjoy the PCIe4.0 performance ceiling is not only another bold attempt to enter a high cost-effective solid state, but also an ideal storage device with "super Ti degree".
