CTOnews.com, October 10, according to the latest statistics released by market research firm IDC, global personal computer (PC) shipments declined again in the third quarter of 2023 compared with the same period last year, but increased by 11% month-on-month.

IDC believes that global PC shipments fell in a spiral to 68.2 million units in the third quarter of 2023, down 7.6% from a year earlier. Although demand and the global economy remain sluggish, PC shipments have increased over the past two quarters, slowing the annual decline, indicating that the market is out of the doldrums.

Dell shipped 10.3 million units in the quarter, with a market share of 15.0%, down 14.3% from 12 million in the same period last year.

Apple shipped 7.2 million units in the quarter, with a market share of 10.6%, down 23.1% from 9.4 million in the same period last year.

Asustek shipped 4.9 million units in the quarter, with a market share of 7.1%, down 10.7% from 5.4 million in the same period last year.
