The ship is scheduled to start its maiden voyage on October 13, with the destination port in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Jiangnan Shipyard said that the ship, designed by Chinese ship Hudong Zhonghua, has a total length of 399.99 meters, a width of 61.5m and a depth of 33.2m. The deck area is close to four standard football fields, and the maximum number of stacked containers can reach 25 stories, equivalent to the height of 22 storeys. It can carry 24116 containers, making it the largest container ship in the world.

In addition, CTOnews.com noted that officials claimed that the ship adopted a shaft generator system for the first time, which claimed to be "effective in reducing fuel consumption and optimizing fuel consumption and the ship's energy efficiency design index (EEDI), thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions."

Jiangnan Shipyard claims that two Shanghai shipbuilders, Jiangnan Shipbuilding and East China, which are owned by China Shipbuilding Group, have delivered a total of 13 of the world's largest 24000TEU-class super large container ships, eight of which are tailor-made for Mediterranean shipping capacity. At present, Shanghai has become the R & D and construction center of super-large container ships in the world, and Mediterranean Shipping has also become an important strategic partner of China Shipbuilding Group.
