CTOnews.com October 9 news, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that from July to August 2023, China's photovoltaic manufacturing industry continued to maintain a high level of operation, industrial scale and the output of major products continued to grow rapidly.

According to the photovoltaic industry standard announcement enterprise information and industry association estimates, the national polysilicon, wafer, battery, module production growth is close to or more than 80% year-on-year.

Polysilicon link: from July to August, the national output reached 233500 tons, an increase of 93.8% over the same period last year.

Silicon wafer link: national output reached 98.9GW from July to August, an increase of 84.3% over the same period last year.

Battery link: from July to August, the national output of crystalline silicon batteries reached 84.7GW, an increase of 77.9% over the same period last year.

Component link: from July to August, the national output of crystalline silicon components reached 76.7GW, an increase of about 77.8% over the same period last year, and the export of products 32.7GW, an increase of 11.2% over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com noted that the cumulative output of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells in China exceeded that of 320GW from January to August. The export volume of photovoltaic products such as silicon wafers, batteries and modules reached 36.17 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.1 percent over the same period last year.

It is understood that crystalline silicon cell is a kind of solar cell, which is the most widely used in the solar market. Crystal silicon battery is mainly based on silicon wafer, which is divided into P-type battery and N-type battery according to the difference of silicon wafer.

The manufacturing process of P-type battery is relatively simple and the cost is low, but the conversion efficiency is not high and the light decay is fast. N-type battery requires higher purity of silicon, frequent replacement of quartz crucible and high unit consumption.
