CTOnews.com, Oct. 8, Meta Quest 3 headset will be released next week. The device has many amazing new features, but some of the best new features won't be available until the end of this year or later.

First of all, the head has a unique upper body tracking function, and there is currently no other independent head display on the market. This feature can track the user's arms and torso without an external camera, increasing the sense of immersion, making virtual images more natural, and creating new gaming mechanisms. Upper body tracking and AI-generated legs will be released to developers in December.

The device's mixed reality feature has also been greatly improved, but an important feature will be missing when it goes on sale: dynamic occlusion (Dynamic Occlusion). The lack of this function can cause digital objects (such as a virtual pet) to be obscured by physical objects, people, or the user's own hands, thus undermining their sense of reality. Deep API, which can achieve dynamic occlusion, will be launched later this year.

There is also a feature called "Augments", which permanently anchors interactive hybrid reality objects in your physical space (such as hanging a picture frame on a wall), or even won't be available until 2024.

Of course, there may be more features under development that we don't know yet, and Meta Quest 3 will only get better and better.

CTOnews.com notes that Meta Quest 2 has also received many important functional updates over the years, such as gesture tracking, PC VR streaming, Oculus Move, social Horizon Home, and perspective applications.
