CTOnews.com, October 8 (Xinhua)-- Samsung will launch the next generation of high-end smartphones-- Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 + and Galaxy S24 Ultra-- early next year. Some specifications of the new phones have been exposed.

It is widely reported that Samsung will use Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors in this series of phones, but it is not clear which version or market will get which version of the phone.

There have been previous reports that Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 + will use Exynos chips, while Galaxy S24 Ultra will use Snapdragon processors. Now a new report from TheElec says Samsung will launch Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 + in Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy versions.

It is reported that the Exynos 2400 version of the above phones will be launched in Africa, Asia (including South Korea), Europe and Latin America, while the version with Snapdragon chip will be launched in North America (Canada and the United States).

It is reported that Galaxy 24 Ultra will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processors in all countries around the world. The decision on the distribution of these versions of the Galaxy S24 series phones is in its final stages and is unlikely to change again, the report said.

CTOnews.com noted that Samsung released the Exynos 2400 processor earlier yesterday, with 70 per cent faster CPU and 14.7 times faster AI processing power than the previous generation, as well as the Xclipse 940 GPU based on AMD's latest RDNA3 architecture. Samsung did not provide data on its GPU performance, but said it provided significantly improved RayTracing performance in the game.

It is reported that the chip is manufactured on the 4nm LPP + node of Samsung Foundry and has 10 cores of CPU. According to previous revelations, Exynos 2400 has a Cortex-X4 CPU core with 3.1GHz frequency, two Cortex-A720 CPU core with 2.9GHz frequency, three Cortex-A720 CPU core with 2.6GHz frequency and four Cortex-A520 CPU core with 1.8GHz frequency.

The Xclipse 940 GPU seems to be 30% faster than the Xclipse 930 GPU used in Exynos 2200, making its game performance close to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Therefore, it is expected that the GPU performance of Exynos 2400 is not as good as that of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Other features of the chip may include a 5G network up to 10Gbps download speed, dual-band GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB 3.2 Type-C port and two-way satellite connection.
