CTOnews.com, Oct. 8, according to Mashable, users of the X website (formerly known as Twitter) found some untagged ads in their For You stream while using the company's mobile app. When users click on these ads, they will jump to other sites, and there is no way to block or report these ads.

These new ads are different from ordinary ads, which are just posts from some accounts on the X website with a "Ad" tag, while these new ads do not have any accounts associated with them, but are made up of written text, photos and false avatars to make the ads look like normal tweets and induce users to click. here's what they look like:

If users simply swipe the screen at will, embedded images and eye-catching text may make users think that this is just an ordinary post, reinforced by false "avatars" created by embedded images.

It is reported that this format is not in the advertising manager of the X website, these ads are actually provided by third-party advertising providers.

CTOnews.com notes that X has been trying to attract advertisers to the platform since Musk acquired the company. Shortly after Musk took over, half of the platform's largest advertisers stopped advertising. In addition, returning advertisers spend 90 per cent less on X than they did before Mr Musk bought the company, according to a new report from Media Matters For America. Another recent Reuters report found that X has faced a monthly decline in revenue since Musk became the owner of the company.
