CTOnews.com, Oct. 6, Intel officially released a video today demonstrating the video playback information of laptops equipped with Core Ultra 1 (Meteor Lake) processors.

First, Intel demonstrated the ability of Core Ultra 1 (Meteor Lake) processors to play 8K video (128Mbps bitrate / HEVC) fluently on the latest core display.

Then, Intel demonstrated the ability of the notebook to play 1080p video using the low-power E core and video decoding unit built into the SoC block by shutting down the CPU and GPU modules. Relying on this low-power video playback capability, the new generation of notebooks to be released at the end of this year is expected to achieve a great improvement in video playback duration.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, Intel introduced a low-power computing island on the Core Ultra I processor to be launched on December 14, with dual "low power efficiency cores" (Low Power E-cores) built into it for light loads. The low power island design is located in the SoC module (SoC Tile) of the new generation processor, with two new low power efficiency cores built into it to further optimize the balance between energy saving and performance.

Intel named the part of SoC module except IO Complex as low power island, in addition to low power E core, there are media module, display engine, NPU, IPI and other components.
