CTOnews.com October 6 news, Micron's new memory manufacturing plant in Idaho began construction today. Meguiar executives will join Governor Brad Little of Idaho, Mayor Lauren McLean of Boysie, and other community partners and team members to mark the milestone with a concrete pouring ceremony at Micron's Boysie headquarters on the 45th anniversary of the company.

Just over a year ago, Micron announced plans to invest about $15 billion by the end of the century to build a new factory for cutting-edge memory manufacturing, which will be located in the same location as Micron's research and development center in Boysie. During the life cycle of the project, Micron will inject $15.3 billion (currently about 111.843 billion yuan) directly into the Idaho economy, including $13 billion (currently about 95.03 billion yuan) directly to Idaho companies. The project will create more than 17000 new jobs in Idaho, including 2000 direct jobs at Micron, to further meet the demand for a diversified, highly skilled workforce.

Boysie is home to Micron's headquarters, the newly expanded Center of Excellence in Technology Innovation and the only DRAM R & D and manufacturing plant in North America. Nearly 2/3 of Meguiar's patents come from members of the Boysie team, with more than three patents a day.

The clean room space of the new fab is expected to be put into use in stages from 2025, and DRAM production will continue to increase in the second half of this century with the growth of industry demand. Eventually, the clean room will reach 600000 square feet, the size of 10 American football fields, and when completed will be the largest single clean room in the history of the United States.
