CTOnews.com, Oct. 6, SF Symbols is Apple's icon library application that makes it easy for developers to use in applications. Apple today released the latest version of SF Symbols 5, which will be integrated into San Francisco fonts.

The latest version of SF Symbols 5 adds more than 5000 icons, including game console buttons, weather conditions, car indicators, and expands the lineup of currency symbols.

Upgrading applications that are compatible with iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma, tvOS 17, and watchOS 10 can call these icon libraries.

This update also introduces symbol animation (symbol animations), which adds animations such as bounce, zoom and pulse, which further enriches the way symbols and their layers move. Apple said the animation effects "energize the interface and provide feedback to user input, while communicating changes in status and ongoing activities".

SF Symbols is an icon database with more than 5000 symbols, which can be seamlessly integrated with the system font San Francisco of the Apple platform. The symbols contain nine thicknesses and three sizes and can be automatically aligned with the text.

You can export them and edit them using vector graphics editing tools to create custom symbols with shared design features and accessibility.

SF Symbols 5 introduces a series of expressive animations, more than 700 new symbols, and improved tools for custom symbols.
