Thank you, CTOnews.com netizens, for your salty clues! CTOnews.com, Oct. 5, according to the MacRumors website, Apple has closed the iOS 16.6.1, iOS 17 and iOS 17.0.1 authentication channels after the release of iOS 17.0.3, which means that users who have upgraded to the new version of the system can no longer be downgraded to the above version.

Apple released an update to iOS 17.0.3 early this morning (build number: 21A360) to fix a problem that "may cause the iPhone to run at a higher temperature than expected."

CTOnews.com previously reported that Apple did not provide any details about the errors it found, but said it would not degrade the performance of the A17 Pro chip through software updates. Apple also said that the titanium frame of the iPhone 15 Pro is not the culprit and that the overheating problem may not be the result of hardware defects.

IOS 16.6.1, released on Sept. 8, mainly fixes a security vulnerability, and Apple says there is evidence that it has been exploited by hackers.

IOS 17 was released on Sept. 19, and Apple brings updates to "phone", "message" and FaceTime calls; "standby display" provides a full-screen experience of placing the iPhone horizontally while charging; and enhances interspace delivery and keyboard functions. In addition, iOS 17 has updated widgets, Safari browsers, "Music", interspace playback, and so on.

IOS 17.0.1 was released on September 22, and Apple provided bug fixes and major security updates for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models.

It is worth mentioning that Apple has not yet closed the authentication channel for iOS 17.0.2, providing another option for users who have upgraded iOS 17.0.3.
