CTOnews.com Oct. 4, Apple today released Xcode 15.1 Beta update (15C5028h), reminding developers that to develop applications for visionOS and Vision Pro headers, you need to use Mac with Apple Silicon.

Apple left a clear note in the Xcode 15.1 Beta release notes that Mac with Apple Silicon is required to develop for VisionOS. Developer Steve Troughton-Smith pointed this out, calling it the "bottom line".

While the visionOS simulator may work on some Intel-based Mac, Apple has told developers that some parts of the development will not be available on Intel now or soon, which means that developers who are still using Intel Mac need to consider upgrading to Apple Silicon.

Xcode 15.1 Beta includes SDK for iOS 17, iPadOS 17, tvOS 17, watchOS 10, macOS Sonoma 14, and VisionOS. Xcode version 15.1 Beta supports debugging on devices in iOS 12 and later, tvOS 12 and later, and watchOS 4 and later. Xcode 15.1 Beta requires Mac running macOS Ventura 13.5 or later.
