CTOnews.com, October 3 (Xinhua)-- HMD Global announced six months ago that it would transfer some of its manufacturing operations to Europe. Today, the company officially unveiled the first batch of Nokia XR21 5G phones made in Europe (Hungary).

It is reported that the relevant Nokia XR21 models are "limited edition", and only 50 units have been produced in the first batch, of which 30 will be sold through Nokia's official website, with a relevant number on the back and a "numbering certificate". As of the release of IT House, the relevant models have not yet been put on the official website.

▲ Tuyuan HMDHMD Global said that in the future, 302 "made in Europe" XR21 5G phones will be produced at a price of 649 euros (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 4978 yuan).

CTOnews.com has previously reported that the Nokia XR21 5G features an aluminum alloy frame and a polycarbonate back cover, with MIL-STD-810H military standard certification and IP69K waterproof and dustproof grade. The latter means that the phone can withstand high-pressure hot water jets and even withstand the impact of high-pressure water guns. By contrast, the Nokia XR20 is only IP68-rated, which is excellent, but not as strong as XR21.

The battery capacity is 4800mAh and supports 33W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging function, and there is no free charger in the box. However, HMD says the phone has 60 per cent longer battery life than the Nokia XR20 and can retain 80 per cent of its capacity after 800 charges and discharges.

For the ▲ source HMD camera, the Nokia XR21 has a rear main shot of 6400 megapixels (f / 1.79, pixel size of 0.7 microns), an 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a front selfie camera of 1600 megapixels.

Nokia XR21 also has other noteworthy features, such as 3.5mm headphone holes, dual stereo speakers, two physical shortcuts, side fingerprint recognition, NFC function, dual card slots, eSIM support and so on. In addition, the phone comes pre-installed with Android 12 and promises a major Android version upgrade and a four-year monthly security patch.
