From January to August, China's Internet and related service enterprises completed Internet business revenue of 906.7 billion yuan, an increase of 2.6% over the same period last year.

The income of enterprises in the field of life services grew rapidly from January to August. Internet business income of platform enterprises that mainly provide life services (including local life, car rental, tourism, financial services, cars, housing, etc.) increased by 11.3% compared with the same period last year.

The income of enterprises in the field of online sales grew rapidly from January to August, and the Internet business revenue of enterprises mainly providing online sales services (including commodities, agricultural and sideline products, integrated e-commerce, medical supplies, express delivery, etc.) increased by 45.1% compared with the same period last year.

In terms of sub-regional operation:

Internet business revenue in the eastern region maintained steady growth from January to August. Internet business revenue in the eastern region totaled 847.4 billion yuan, an increase of 3.7 percent over the same period last year, which was 0.3 percentage points lower than that in January-July and accounted for 93.5 percent of the national Internet business revenue.

The revenue from Internet business in the central region totaled 28.92 billion yuan, down 9.7 percent from the same period last year, or 1.7 percent more than in the period from January to July.

Revenue from Internet business in the western region totaled 28.14 billion yuan, down 8.3 percent from the same period last year, or 1.6 percentage points lower than in January-July.

Revenue from Internet business in Northeast China totaled 2.23 billion yuan, down 38.5 percent from the same period last year, or 2.1 percentage points lower than in January-July.
