CTOnews.com October 2 news, with the continuous development of technology, a kind of intelligent driving aircraft called eVTOL has begun to enter people's lives. In fact, the Chinese name of eVTOL is called electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, which is a kind of flying car.

According to CCTV reports, China, as a leader in global product research and development, is one of the first countries to carry out aviation pilot operations and enter the stage of establishing regulatory operation standards.

eVTOL is the product of aviation electrification, with the capability of light helicopters, and its operation goal is to become the main force of low-altitude intelligent transportation in cities in the future.

CCTV pointed out that small eVTOL has been widely used in military, aviation model, agriculture, security and other fields. As China's manned eVTOL enters the flight test phase, we are not far from a life called "flying."

At last month's 2023 World Manufacturing Conference, domestic companies demonstrated their self-developed tilt-rotor electric aircraft E20eVTOL. According to CTOnews.com, the aircraft can cruise at speeds of up to 260 kilometers per hour and as fast as 320 kilometers per hour.

Compared with traditional helicopters, manned eVTOL pure electric drive, low noise, high cost performance, more environmentally friendly, is a more in line with the future urban air traffic system products.

Of course, not only China, but also enterprises in Japan, Britain and other countries are actively developing layout. For example, Yihang eVTOL successfully carried out manned test flight in Japan on February 17 this year.

Meanwhile, U.K. company Vertical Aerospace has begun flight testing its full size electric air taxi, but is aiming for a debut in 2026.
