CTOnews.com, October 2 (Xinhua) Tesla's California Virtual Power Plant (VPP) project is becoming more and more participant. according to data shared by X user Kromek6, the VPP program has covered 244 households in San Diego, and the user thanked Tesla and San Diego Gas Power Company for accepting his application.

CTOnews.com noted that users with Tesla Powerwall and solar panels in California can apply to join VPP through Tesla App, and users can store electricity generated by solar panels or store electricity during off-peak hours for home use or to charge electric cars.

As of late July, there were about 7727 VPP participants across California, most of them residents living in the northern part of the state through PG&E, according to LastBulb.

At that time, 5681 people in Tesla's VPP plan signed through PG&E and another 2046 through SoCal Edison. San Diego only announced plans to launch Tesla's VPP program in August, so 244 participants have joined since then.
