On October 1, NYSE:NIO; HKEX:9866; SGX:NIO released the latest delivery information: a total of 15641 new cars were delivered in September, an increase of 43.8% over the same period last year; 55432 new cars were delivered in the third quarter, an increase of 75.4% over the same period last year, with quarterly delivery reaching an all-time high; from January to September 2023, a total of 109993 new cars were delivered, and a total of 399549 new cars have been delivered.

This means that the second-generation technology platform models continue to sell well. With the launch of the new EC6 on September 15, Ulai officially completed the product intergenerational switching, becoming the first intelligent electric vehicle brand in the world to complete the vertical switching of the technology platform.

Since the beginning of this year, many new energy vehicle brands have been reducing prices and promoting sales in a variety of ways in order to exchange prices for volume. After entering the third quarter, a new round of price war "rolled up" again, and the market competition of the traditional "gold nine silver ten" makes this round of price war more intense. While maintaining the basic stability of its own price system, sales remain high, so sales in the third quarter are very valuable.

In China's high-end pure electricity market, Weilai continues to maintain a leading position. The latest data show that from January to August this year, Xilai accounted for 60.1 per cent of the pure electricity market of high-end brands with an average transaction price of more than 300000. Among them, sales in Zhejiang and Shanghai accounted for 52.1% of the national sales, and the average transaction price in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai reached more than 300000. The market share of pure electricity of high-end brands reached 68.0%. Forty-eight per cent of Weilai's additional car buyers are from BBA, and some of the second-generation technology platform models are as high as 56 per cent.

Since the second quarter of this year, Xilai has completed the high-quality delivery of six new models in just more than four months, and its customer satisfaction has exceeded expectations, fully reflecting its ability to quickly iterate products and manage the complexity of many products.

With the launch of the new EC6, Ulai officially completed the product intergenerational switching into a strong product cycle, and became the first intelligent electric vehicle brand in the world to complete the vertical switching of the technology platform. At present, 8 models of the second generation technology platform have formed the strongest product matrix, fully meeting the diversified needs of users in the price range of 300000-600000, covering the main selling market in which BBA accounts for 80% of sales. The second-generation technology platform products such as brand-new ES6, ET5, ET5T and brand-new ES8 have burst into strong vitality and played a set of beautiful sales "combination punches".

In the third quarter of this year, Weilai began to vigorously promote sales capacity building, from the sinking of channels, the expansion of sales team, the adjustment of organizational structure around sales and other aspects of simultaneous development. It is expected that from October, the results of sales and energy construction will gradually show.

For Weilai, the record sales in the third quarter is only a step in its development. With the accelerated delivery of the second-generation technology platform models, coupled with the ongoing sales capacity building, the next sales are expected to increase steadily.

At the same time, the first self-developed chip product, the lidar main control chip "Yang Kui", was also officially unveiled. With the characteristics of high integration, low energy consumption and strong performance, the chip can provide better support for complex scenes and is in a leading position in the field of lidar master chip. In addition, NIO Link panoramic Interconnection was also officially announced on the same day, based on hardware, through the integration of software and hardware, end-to-end cloud cooperation, to achieve a full-link secure and open new way of vehicle-centric mobile interconnection.

With the effective application of R & D results, Weilai has excellent product quality. In July this year, ET5 and EL7 (ES7 for the Chinese market) both won the Euro NCAP European Association for New car Safety Evaluation, one of the most authoritative safety testing institutions in the automotive industry (new 2023 regulation). Since the new rules were put into effect, Xilai is the first car brand to achieve a five-star safety rating. In addition, the new ES6 is the only one with a comprehensive evaluation of all G (excellent) among more than 60 models.

At present, Xilai has set up R & D and production facilities in Shanghai, Hefei, Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, San Jose, Munich, Oxford, Berlin, Budapest and Singapore. By the end of August 2023, more than 7300 patents were pending and granted worldwide.
